Your jewellery is your prized possession. It might be the gold jewellery or the gold plated jewellery or even artificial jewellery. Every type of jewellery is cost in its own right. It needs to be packed with a lot of care.
JEWELLERY PACKING
Ø Use small zip-locked plastic bags
Use small zip-locked plastic bags for your jewellery. You can keep each single piece of necklace in one plastic bag. If you keep the necklaces together they will get entangled and you will have to sort them out later. When finished with packing of necklaces pack them in one single back which is safe while carrying.
Ø Use straws for packing of some jewellery items
Buy a box of plastic straws or use old ones lying with you. Unclasp each necklace lying with you and thread the chains through the straw. Use two straws when you have to chain long necklaces and cut the straw into half when the necklace is small. Place the straws after clasping the necklace in sealable plastic bag.
Ø Lay them on Bubble Wrap
Take a large Bubble Wrap paper and lay it flat. Place each clasped necklace and place them flat on the Bubble Wrap paper. Tape the necklace to the sheet taping both ends of the necklace separately. When finished roll the bubble wrap and pack it.
Ø Create pouches out of pantyhose – Jewellery stores store necklaces in small velvet pouches or pouches made from fabric. You can create your own by purchasing small pieces of cheap pantyhose. You may cut each leg of the hose horizontally in small six inch sections. Place each clasped necklace inside the pocket and secure each open end with a rubber band. Place these small homemade necklace pouches in a large bag or box.
Ø Packing small jewellery – In case you don’t want to use a box for packing small accessories you can use business cards and buttons to wrap small items like earrings.
– Poke small holes in a business card and fit as many earrings as possible onto one card.
– You can also thread the earrings through a buttonhole and fitting each post through the other side.
Once you have sorted all your jeweller place them in a sandwich bag. Place this sandwich bag inside a larger sandwich bag

PACKING OF IMPORTANT GADGETS
Ø Keep gadgets like Laptops and mobiles separately – Your household items have a lot of gadgets but mobile phones and laptops are some of the gadgets that you can’t do without. So keep them separately with yourself.
Ø Keep the power cables together – Always make it a point to keep the power cables together with the gadget. There are so many gadgets which are moving along with you. When you will try to fix them at the new place you might get confused which power cable is for which device.
Ø Identify each box separately in which each gadget is placed – This will help you unpack the gadgets at the new place accordingly. You can unpack those gadgets first which are required by you urgently.
Ø Always keep the thermocol sheets and boxes for gadgets in the garage – The new gadgets whether those be small items or large items like LED and laptops come inside boxes and thermocol sheets tightly packed. If you are a frequent mover due to job requirements always try to store them in the garage or store. These can be handy when sudden need arises to pack them for moving on. The tight packing helps to carry the gadget over long distances without any damage.
